Remembering Our Founder – Chris Genge

As company President and Founder, Chris Genge was motivated to be an early mover in everything he did. He displayed a true entrepreneurial spirit in identifying opportunities with potential and pursuing them.

Chris founded 1st on the List Promotion Inc. in 1997, just one year after the term “SEO” was coined, and before Google was a search engine. He grew the business from a one-person home start-up to what it is now – a highly reputable SEO firm in North America with clients in every industry and a remarkable track record. If you had the privilege of speaking with Chris you know he never beat around the bush and simply said it as it was. Our clients appreciated his straightforward advice and highly valued his input. He was skilled at taking his technical understanding of SEO and speaking in plain language and practical examples to help business owners understand what their website needed and the results that could be expected.

A Lasting Legacy

Sadly, Chris passed away on July 29, 2021 after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. He was much-loved and will be dearly missed by his family as well as our entire team, our clients, and the company’s business associates. Chris remained forever passionate about this industry until the very end and his SEO knowledge was unparalleled. He took great pride in the company’s ability to consistently help clients achieve sustainable online business success and we remain committed to honoring this legacy in the many years to come.
